This Sinclair C5 has been dry stored for several years before undergoing recomissioning by C5 Depot. This is an extremely original example complete with its original quality control sticker on the rear light. This is the 1146th C5 produced in December 1984. An early production model as it has the grey boot.

Recomissioning included full service of control box, pod and motor. New brake lines, tyres and tubes. All bearings have been oiled/greased with several being replaced. Some choice upgrades of a safety wiring loom, wider drive belt, LED bulbs, roller bearing planetary gears and a motor cooling fan kit have been fitted. The gearbox mount has been replaced with the later style “cream” part. 

A lithium battery has been fitted giving speed of 14mph and estimated 14 miles of range. Included are two original keys, battery charger and the original tool kit. Original tyres and other parts will be included for completeness.

It’s current owner is the son of the logistics manager for Sinclair vehicles who was responsible for delivering the body shells from the manufacturer in Manchester to the Hoover factory in Wales. He was also responsible for the design of the two drain holes in the seat.

Available for collection from Felixstowe or from the NEC Classic Car Show where it will be on display on the C5 Owners stand.
