LED Bulb Upgrade

The original filament bulbs in a Sinclair C5 have a low light output and generate heat which not only is a waste but can melt the bulb housings and light units.

These LED bulbs are a direct replacement for the original Sinclair C5 light bulbs and produce a bright modern looking light whilst being more efficient and staying cool. These lights are visible from a distance which improves safety no end. 4 LEDS around the circumference of the bulb make good use of the reflective headlight housing.

You will receive 2 LED Bulbs.

To Change the front bulb - From behind the headlight remove the black plastic surround. You will see the wiring and the bulb holder. Twist and pull the bulb holder being careful not to damage the light unit. If it is not possible to remove then the headlight unit will need to be removed carefully by releasing the two snap fittings located above the stem of the front wheel. This is accessed from under the C5. Once the bulb holder is removed from the unit remove the old bulb and fit the LED bulb. Test and reassemble.

To Change the rear bulb - Remove the two cross head screws from the rear light unit. Lift the unit up and away from the shell. The bulb holder has a rubber outer which is best removed by pulling or twisting. The bulb simply pulls out. Fit the LED bulb and test. Refit the holder to the light unit. Refit the light unit but note that the bottom of the unit has a lip that mounts inside the bottom of the ledge on the shell. Refit the screws and do no overtighten.

TOP TIP: LED bulbs only work one way round. Test the lights before reassembling and if they dont work then turn 180 degrees and refit.
